Rotary Wine Appreciation Fellowship
from Simon Manning
When I was District Governor some years ago, my fellow Governor from 9920 Jennie Herring and I were often found at the bar, putting the Rotary world to right, one day she asked what was that fancy pin on my lapel. (At least I think that what she said, we have been in the Bar in San Diego for some hours…) I said it the Rotary Wine Appreciation Fellowship Pin. Jennie who knows much more than I about Rotary did a bit of research and immediately joined. On returning to NZ she immediately set up a group in District 9920, I joined her on the inaugural 9920 meeting. Our District, 9940 also have a group of approximately 12 members.
Members who like a good wine, can join the Rotary Wine Appreciation Fellowship, please see the link below.
It would be great to have some more members in our District. Just fill out the details in the above link and then lets create some events and have fun.

JOHN GRANVILLE IS MOVING TO WANGANUI
How much are we going to miss this guy?
John Granville said farewell to members on what could be his last night at the club before he moves to Wanganui.
John, Past President, Committee member for 17 years, Paul Harris Fellow and Assistant District Governor is an exemplary Rotarian in every respect.
A retired NZ Navy Commander , a great teller of yarns, with quick wit, master of irreverence and expert on all things naval, has been a very active member in the Kapiti outside Rotary as well .
John loved his time at Kapiti Rotary, his first club and community outside the navy, especially enjoying our vibrancy, irreverence, fellowship and community activities. John has promised to visit us from time to time and would welcome any members to visit / stay with him in his new town. We will really miss John.
