10th September 2020

Welcome to another issue of our weekly bulletin!

Find out what we covered during the last weekly meeting.

Thanks to the electoral candidates attending our last meeting for an informative night.

Daffodils Fund Raiser

daffsThanks everyone, a successful day but with its limitations. Daffodils were sold at Waikanae Community market and at the Otaki Saturday market. Special thanks to Doug, Bruce and Sheena, but also to Shirley and Kevin, Nic, Chris and Tim. We were aiming for $3000, and got to $743.50. Nothing to be ashamed of. The balance of the blooms was donated to the 10 retirement establishments in Waikanae and Paraparaumu, and they were well received.

Rotary Learning

This weekend a number of Rotarians from across the district joined together for a Rotary Leadership Institute event.
Originally planned for being face to face, we resorted to our now well established online zoom venue to spend the day learning and sharing about Rotary and the many contributions Rotarians make in the name of service.
Some amazing work is being done by Rotarians globally. A highly beneficial experience that is highly recommended for both new and well established members.
Find out more about what Rotary across the world has achieved and topical issues in The Rotarian Magazine.

Zone 8 | Rotary 2020 | Virtual Conference

Experience Alice Springs from your sofa!
Why not join the upcoming Rotary conference now being held online?
This coming Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September.

The array of presenters is first class plus you will be able to experience what is happening in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. This conference is one not to miss, it will be historic.

I would encourage Rotary Clubs to have their Rotary meeting on the Saturday or Sunday or both days and watch the conference live (between 11.30AM AEST and 1.00PM AEST each day on the 19th and 20th of September).

Organise a brunch, lunch or afternoon tea and share the experience.
