Rotary is dedicated to fighting and preventing disease.  Disease Prevention and Treatment is one of Rotary’s Seven Area of Focus.   Disease and illness results in pain and injury.  Prolonged severe illness may result in loss of employment and income.  It affects families.  It affects quality of life.

Rotary and Rotarians are committed to helping people to live healthy lives.   Our vaccination efforts are needed as much as ever.

Santa Ross

2 Paul Harris Fellowships were awarded, to acclaim and a few happy tears:

Josie Adlam

for her consistent dedication and tireless efforts, lifting our comms to new heights and crafting the Club's fantastic Electra Business Awards entry. The Club is now more connected and visible than ever.

Vic Hewson

for his amazing leadership last year, his cheerful optimism and the membership drive which has made the Club stronger and more diverse. You led by example and Ross is following in your footsteps.

Thank you both for being such fine Rotarians. You inspire us all.

Ross opined we are the most successful Club in the District. Jocelyn (tactfully) just smiled.

Ross presented a $5,000 cheque to Shirley Sowry and Malcolm Leeming on behalf of Life Education Trust. Malcolm was uncharacteristically quiet so Shirley said a few heartfelt words of thanks. The Club has contributed a huge sum of money to the Trust over the years, benefitting countless kids.

Santa Ross wishes everyone a very merry Christmas and safe holidays.

It was a splendid evening, with a full house and great entertainment by Don Wilson. The dress theme was red, white and green. People interpreted this in various ways and it made for a cheerful if chaotic scene. The pork roast meal was delicious: thank you to the ladies in the kitchen.

The ole collapsing table stunt made for some excitement. Linda and Yvonne got everyone up dancing.

Well done, all, on a terrific year of service, conviviality, and care and compassion for each other. Be safe out there!

Wood for Good: the final working bee of the year

Thank you all for your assistance yesterday, another magic day. Thank you for the physical work you did, for the loan of trailers, splitters, chainsaws, preparing to chip in wherever needed, making my job a lot easier.

Special thanks to Helen and Sandra for the delicious food: you never cease to amaze us!

Hope the head is OK, Kevin, do you wish to put in a claim to ACC?? Although, thinking about it, it may help you to focus on reading and obeying instructions!!

Season's greetings, enjoy family, friends and relaxing,

Yours in Rotary
