2017 Rotary Golf Tournament Raises Funds For Kapiti Youth
 
The Annual Golf Tournament organised by the Kapiti Rotary Club, has realised a record amount for Kapiti Youth Support recently.
The Tournament attracted a record field of players, and was financially assisted by major sponsors, and local businesses that provided cash and vouchers for the successful golfers on the day.
The main competition of the day, was won by Peter Milne who produced 51 Stableford points. Other Rotary Club winners were, H.E.Mander Trophy for Best Nett points, was Bill Morrison, and the Jack Donaldon Trophy for Best Nett score was Guy Weaver. A cheque for $1000 was presented to the Paraparaumu Golf Club’s Junior Golf initiative, which is graduating some very high standard young golfers.
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Doug Hooper Smith, when providing an overview to the Kapiti Rotary Club said, ‘we extend sincere appreciation to all of the sponsors and players who have made this event so successful, and which has produced a record donation amount for this event of $12,000. From comments received, it would appear that the annual fixture will continue to grow and flourish in the future. Local Kapiti businesses have expressed pleasure in becoming involved, and to support such a worthy cause’ he said.
