Past District Governor and District Chair of the Rotary Foundation Martin Garcia presented an update on the Rotary Foundation, a non-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions.
Since its inception in 1917 it has contributed $4bn. to change people lives and has been a lead actor in eradicating polio world-wide.
Kapiti Rotary is a "major donor' contributing over USD100,000 since the clubs incorporation 1974.
