Our guest speaker and chief entertainer for the Paul Harris Fellow / Club 43rd anniversary evening was Marist St Pats Rugby club and Wgtn representative legend Steve (the Enforcer) Hinds regaling us with some of his memorable and also less salubrious moments on the field from back in the day, no cameras and only one ref to manage the game. Where matters were dealt with and left on the paddock. However in 1992 cameras and citing had to be introduced to protect players from increasingly foul  behaviour well beyond the pale.  A gentle giant off field Steve turned from poacher to gamekeeper becoming a citing commissioner who went on to officiate at a number of World Cups as the World Rugby Citing Commissioner, where he has met many wonderful people. He reckons the citing regime has saved many serious injuries.
