Cheryl Murray, Kapiti Coordinator of "Become a Neighbourhood Supporter" encouraged members to join this national movement connecting neighbours to create safer communities. Cheryl explained that there are 18,000 street groups in Wellington, South Wairarapa, Lower Hutt & Kapiti alone! and they have a youth coordinator creating Rangatahi Street on Facebook.
They partner with Police, Fire & Emergency, WREMO & KCDC to assist with emergencies and build neighbourhood resilience.
Cheryl advised everyone to make connections with their neighbours.
